We think Operation Christmas Child is a very special way to show God’s love for children throughout the world. Along with valuable items of need that we almost take for granted, each shoe box is overflowing with hope through the love of God in a fun and special way. I have personally seen the delight in children’s eyes when Samaritan’s Purse provides small packages filled with hope, presented in a loving way.
Through a unique local connection, I was able to go to the headquarters of “Operation Christmas Child” in Boone, N C. Had the privilege to meet the manager of this division of Samaritan’s Purse and create a plan to help inspect packages during the major shipping season. This is important to explain, because normally it is hard to volunteer to help, because of so many people trying to volunteer.
Someone from our group will lead the prayer retreat during our stay in Boone.
So, we are now set to go!
